Health Science

  • Program Description:

    The Health Science Program teaches students the terminology used in the medical field and students gain exposure to the health care system.  Careers in health professions are growing rapidly and look to only be more numerous during the next decade.  Students learn the history of medicine, safe practices used by medical professionals, communications skills, ethics, and leadership.  Students are provided with classroom, laboratory, online, and practicum experiences to learn to work in various health care settings.  Students also have the opportunity to participate in Career and Technical Student Organizations, HOSA and Skills USA, to compete for local, state, and national awards.

    Courses:

    11th grade - Priniciples of Health Science (fall) and Health Science Theory (spring)

    12th grade - Practicum in Health Science A and B
