Mrs. Kimberly Saldivar
Hi Everyone! Welcome to Fourth Grade! This is my tenth year of teaching. I am entering my fifth year at Stevens as an English Language Reading Arts Teacher. I have previously taught Third and First Grades as well as PK.
Reading is everywhere! My overall goal as a teacher is to make sure that your child becomes an avid reader. One that enjoys reading on their own. I teach my students to become life-long learners. Your child will constantly make text connections, such as, text-to-self, text-to-text, and text-to-world. This will prepare them for their academic journey in life. I believe every child can learn in their own way and at their own pace.
I am a fluent Spanish speaker, as a matter of fact, Spanish is my first language. I was an ESL student just like many of our Stallions at Stevens. I am a native Houstonian and proud daughter of Mexican parents. I am a first generation American and the first in my family to graduate from college. I earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Houston-Downtown. In my spare time, you will find me either on a hiking trip or at an Astros game with my husband of 16 years and my two sons.
As a parent I know all to well the importance of home support. By working together, your child will be successful academically. Please know that I am available for any questions and/or concerns via my school email or Class Dojo. Thank you and I am excited to be your child’s teacher this school year!
