Ethel R. Coop Elementary has a school wide Title I program. Title I is a federally funded program with the intent to improve the academic achievement of students who are economically disadvantaged. The purpose of Title I, Part A is to ensure that all Children have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity to obtain a high-quality education based on the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) and reach a minimum proficiency on the State of Texas Assessment of Academic Readiness (STAAR).
Under the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001, Title I funds enable The Ethel R. Coop Elementary to employ and train highly qualified teachers and paraprofessionals; purchase instructional materials and classroom technology; sponsor parental involvement activities, and supplement different programs offered at Coop Elementary to increase the students' academic achievement. Please refer to our Coop monthly calendar in order to review all the programs and activities sponsored by Title I at our School.
