Wraparound Resource Specialist

Edgar Campbell is Furr High School’s Wraparound Resource Specialist. What is a “Wraparound,” you ask?  Mr. Ramirez is a non-academic support who addresses critical issues such as mental and physical health. These needs include; food and clothing insecurities, lack of stable housing, violence, incarceration of a parent, and many other challenges that students face and that can have adverse effects on their readiness and ability to learn.

Ms. Takiwa Washington, LMSW

Social Worker

For 16 years Takiwa Washington provided school-based mental health services to children and families throughout the greater Houston area. Takiwa earned her Master of Social Work degree from Southern University at New Orleans School of Social Work.

As a Campus-Based Social Worker, Takiwa provides direct services to students to meet their Social-Emotional needs. She also works with teachers, administrators and parents to provide coordinated interventions and consultation designed to keep students in school and help families access the supports needed to promote student success.
