I am Portia Johnson, your child’s 6th/7th grade ELA STEM teacher. This is my 8th year teaching, but my second year at Attucks Middle School.  I obtained my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from Tougaloo College. As a creative and innovative educator, I am constantly striving to make school more enjoyable and exciting for my students. Through experience, I have found that motivating students enables them to grasp concepts effectively and efficiently. With an in-depth understanding of the different ways in which students learn, my instruction is adapted to suit different learning styles, thus always providing my students with a motivating positive, and safe learning environment.

 My goal as their teacher is to help them grow. Not to confine their thoughts to just the four walls of the classroom but to the community, globally, and beyond.
