Meet Ms. Lewis, School Social Worker
-
Greetings, Herod Elementary community! My name is Kimberly Lewis, and I proudly serve as the School Social Worker. The services I provide are not intended to replace the services provided by Licensed Clinical Counselors/Therapists outside of the school. School services are designed to assist students with behavioral, social, emotional, and family/community needs. The format may be either small group or individual sessions.
Areas of Expertise:
💬 I specialize in offering interventions for coping skills, addressing grief and loss, managing anxiety, handling behavioral challenges, providing support for students dealing with divorce, building self-esteem, and enhancing social skills.
Your Concerns Matter:
📝 If you have any concerns about a student's well-being or need support, please do not hesitate to reach out. Kindly click here or scan the QR code on the left, and I will ensure that your concerns are addressed.
Opting Out of Services:
If you would not like your student to receive social work services, please complete the form at the bottom of this page and send it to school with your student.
Confidentiality Disclaimer:
When working with students what we discuss in conversation is confidential. The only time I will disclose what has been shared is:
If the student is threatening/planning to hurt themselves or others
If the student shares they or someone else is in danger of being hurt
If the student gives permission for me to repeat what they shared
Social Work sessions will remain confidential except when certain legal restrictions arise, and confidentiality cannot be maintained. These cases include, but are not limited to, child abuse, danger to oneself, danger to others, and illegal words/actions.
Thank you for entrusting me with supporting your child's emotional and social growth. I look forward to working together to create a nurturing and supportive environment for every student at Herod Elementary School.
