Mr. Daniel Whitaker

Welcome to Benavidez! 

I am Daniel M. Whitaker, and currently I serve as an Assistant Principal at Benavidez ES. I am a dedicated educational professional with a passion for fostering academic excellence and creating positive learning environments. With over 12 years of experience in instructional leadership, curriculum development, and student engagement, I am committed to supporting students' academic, social, and emotional growth. In this role, I collaborate with educators, parents, and the community to enhance student outcomes and ensure a safe, supportive learning environment. My previous roles include Assistant Principal of Curriculum and Instruction at IDEA Public School, Math Instructional Coach at Springwoods Village Middle School, as well as the Math Department Chairperson at Fondren Middle School.  I have a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Marketing from New Mexico State University, Las Cruces, NM, and a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A) from Southern New Hampshire University, Manchester, NH.  I am committed to continuous professional development and staying current with the latest educational trends. My goal is to make a meaningful impact on the lives of students by providing them with the skills and support they need to succeed.

Outside of being an Assistant Principal, I am a proud father of four children and an avid sports fan.  I am a lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan! Having played college football and then transitioning to coaching middle and high school athletes, I know the importance of nurturing and coaching individuals to reach their full potential.
