  • INITIALLY

    The history of SIS began when the Houston I.S.D. in partnership with Asia Society International Studies Schools Network, developed a new, small high school in August 2007 called the International High School at Sharpstown.

    MERGING TOGETHER


    In the 2011-2012 school year, International High School and Sharpstown Middle School were consolidated to be the first 6th - 12th level Magnet program in HISD, with an international studies focus called Sharpstown International School.

    CURRENTLY


    Sharpstown International School provides all students the opportunity for a personalized learning environment and prepares them for active roles as global citizens.  We develop students’ international knowledge and skills by deepening their understanding of world culture. Our faculty, staff, and student body represent over 130 countries and we speak over 90 different languages including Spanish, Chinese, Vietnamese, Arabic, Urdu, and Farsi.
