I know 2020 has brought a paradigm shift for so many, and I can’t tell you how excited I am to be connecting with you and our amazing Dragons in just a few short weeks. The School at St. George Place remains relentlessly committed to providing a rigorous IB experience for our students and families; molding the whole child, as well as facilitating the academic and personal growth in our students that will allow them to be servant leaders in the 21st century.
As we plan to support our students in this journey, I know many of you are eager to learn when some of the key opening of school events will be taking place. As in past years we will be having a Meet the Teacher event the week before school begins. This year, in observance of local and district health guidelines, Our Meet the Teacher nights will be virtual and on the following dates:
Wednesday, September 2nd (5:30-7:00 pm)- Grades PK - 1st
Thursday, September 3rd (5:30-7:00 pm)- Grades 2nd - 5th
Additionally, our 1st day of school will be on September 8th and instruction will be virtual for the first six weeks (September 8th-October 16th) with a return to face to face instruction planned for October 19th. Families will have the option to remain in virtual instruction for the first semester or the entire school year. If you are in need of checking out a device, please complete the tech needs and back to school survey on our school website at https://www.houstonisd.org/stgeorge.
