About FBMS Dance
Our motto for the dance department is “Dancers preparing for life through movement.”
The Frank Black Middle School Dance Program was established in 2005 by Valerie Nesby. The FBMS Dance Department strives to provide excellence in dance training to our students and for our students to work as a team toward a common goal of excellence through performance. FBMS students are trained in Classical Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Hip-Hop, and Tap. Students can take classes at the beginning, intermediate, and advanced level. All students that wish to advance their dance training through the intermediate and advanced level must have teacher approval.
FBMS also has a Performance Group known as the FBMS En l'air Dance Company. These students have a love for performing and perform in many school activities, community venues, and dance competitions. Auditions for the performance group are held in the Fall.
