Roy Giles: July 2017 Employee of the Month
If your office is too hot or too cold, or you need the board auditorium set up for a meeting, who do you call? Roy Giles, senior plant operator at Hattie Mae White Educational Support Center.
Giles is employee of the month for July. He started his career with HISD 25 years ago as a custodian at McDade Elementary School, which closed in May of 2011, and worked his way up to his current position. He can handle pretty much anything you need at HISD’s administration building.
“His quality of work, the way he carries himself, his integrity, all of those things make up Roy Giles,” said HISD Chief Operating Officer Brian Busby. “I thank him for his level of customer support, insuring that everyone in this building has what he or she needs—facility-wise—to support HISD students. Thank you, Mr. Giles, for all that you do for us.”
“They gave me this opportunity to be the senior plant operator at Hattie Mae White, and I can’t let them down,” Giles said. “I really appreciate it.”
