Martha Arredondo: November 2017 Employee of the Month
It has been said, ‘the sun always shines after a storm’ and
that’s exactly what November’s Employee of the Month and Scroggins Elementary
clerk, Martha Arredondo has brought to the campus.
“Ever since I’ve known her, no matter what anyone needs at
the school, she can find a way to give it to them,” shared Jo A. Reed,
Scroggins Elementary librarian.
Immediately following Hurricane Harvey, Martha opened her
home to the Scroggins Elementary community as a donation drop-off center, where
she received an outpouring of items and support from surrounding neighbors and
churches.
“She goes far and beyond what a clerk does,” Reed added.
“The students look at her like an aunt and she takes care of them like her
own.”
“Being employee of the month is very special to me and I
want to take this time to say, thank you to everyone at Scroggins Elementary
for always being there for me,” said Martha.
Martha started her career at HISD 27-years-ago as a teacher
assistant.
