Maritime Studies
Austin High School invites you to apply for admission to the maritime studies program. Students will have a unique opportunity to attend one of the nation's largest maritime-themed high schools. Students will learn to use state-of-the-art simulation equipment, gain professional certifications, and develop skills to obtain a high paying career in the maritime industry. In addition, the program serves to foster initiative, integrity, honor and leadership skills while preparing students for the many real-world challenges awaiting them.Innovative Career Pathways
Maritime Logistic-How does your Iphone get from China to Houston? Maritime Logistics is the management of the flow of goods from point A (origin) to point B (consumption).Jobs: Material Handling, Production Handling, Inventory, Transportation, and Warehousing.
Maritime Piloting & Deck Operations-Want an opportunity for rapid advancement and high pay?In this pathway, you'll master the skills necessary to obtain the certifications for entry-level positions on a variety of ships. Jobs: Deck Hand, Ordinary Seaman, and Bridge Watch.Maritime Systems Engineering- Learn to operate maintain, and repair ship propulsion engines, boilers, generators, pumps, and other machinery.Jobs: Diesel Engine Mechanic, Ship Engineer, and Tankerman.
