The Houston Independent School District’s (HISD) Office of School Choice manages the Magnet Application process. Please consult their website to stay abreast of new developments and information.

How to Apply:

You can apply to Austin High School by going to this link at HISD SCHOOL CHOICE

Eligibility requirements:

All students need to have a MATRIX SCORE of 80 or better to be ELIGIBLE to apply to Austin High School’s Magnet programs

Registration requirements:

We need the following documents BEFORE you can register to attend Austin High School:

1. Birth Certificate
2. Social Security Card
3. Proof of Residence- WE ONLY ACCEPT THE FOLLOWING:

• Current Rental Lease or Mortgage Statement
• Electric Bill
• Gas Bill
• Water Bill  

4. Final Report Card showing promotion to the next grade
5. Immunization Records
6. Copy of Parent’s ID
