Hello! My name is Jessica Morales. I was born and raised in Houston, Texas and have dedicated 10 years to education. I graduated from the University of Houston-Downtown and obtained my Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of St. Thomas.
My mission is to create a positive learning environment that will encourage students to problem-solve, collaborate, use critical thinking skills and their creativity inside and outside of the classroom. As an educator, I will encourage and stimulate thinking, provide opportunities for student choice and inquiry, and convey a sense of wonder about learning in efforts to lead students to becoming life-long learners. I believe each child is unique and learns in different ways. It is my job as their teacher to tap into each student's strengths, help students discover these strengths and provide experiences for students to learn and create through various learning modalities. I love learning about and working with students and their families and believe a child’s education is greatly enhanced when teachers and parents form great partnerships.
I am thrilled to begin another school year and look forward to working with students, families, and staff at The School at St. George Place.
"I believe all students can learn. Each child comes to class with a unique style of learning and have different needs. I teach because I feel privileged to be a part of making an impact on each of my students' lives. I love to create meaningful learning experiences that meet each students' unique learning styles that provide opportunities for growth no matter their level. I also love witnessing and celebrating students' growth throughout the year and feel proud knowing that I played a role in their academic success. I also continue to teach for those moments when students return to visit in the future to share their successes and I am able to celebrate alongside them. I teach because I know how much it matters and I can make a difference."
