How to become a leader with HISD.
Our campus leadership selection pipeline consists of four stages.
- Application and certification review
- Online administrator assessment
- Skills demonstration exercise*
- Structured interview
Candidates must successfully complete each stage of the selection pipeline in order to be considered for placement as a campus leader.
The Principal Pipeline Pool
This pool is for internal and external candidates who are ready to take on a leadership role as an HISD principal. Opportunities include all school levels – elementary, middle, and high school.
Once a principal candidate is placed into the principal pool, they become eligible for further review by the Schools Office and placement into a specific campus-based principal position.
Please note: Applicants interested in applying for other campus leadership positions such as instructional coordinator, magnet coordinator, counselor, etc., are not required to apply for our leadership pipeline and may apply directly for those positions that interest them through our careers website.
