Aspiring Assistant Principals

  • How to become a leader with HISD.

Our campus leadership selection pipeline consists of four stages.

    • Application and certification review
    • Online administrator assessment
    • Skills demonstration exercise
    • Structured interview

Candidates must successfully complete each stage of the selection pipeline in order to be considered for placement as a campus leader.

    The Assistant Principal Pipeline Pool

This pool is for internal and external candidates that are ready to assist the principal in providing overall leadership, encouraging a positive and safe climate in the schools, and providing effective instruction to our global learners.

    Pool

Once an AP candidate is placed into the Assistant Principal pool, they become eligible for further review by the Schools Office and Campus Principals for placement into a specific campus.

Please note:  Applicants interested in applying for other campus leadership positions such as instructional coordinator, magnet coordinator, counselor, etc., are not required to apply for our leadership pipeline and may apply directly for those positions that interest them through our careers website.
