Mr. Jeff Turner began his career in education 37 years ago in Greenwood South Carolina. He taught English, History, and Gifted/Talented Studies from 1988-1997. In 1997, he became librarian at Southside Middle School in Greenwood, South Carolina. In 2002, he accepted a librarian position in HISD and moved to Houston where he has been a school librarian for the past 22 years. He is thrilled to be back in middle school where it all began for him! In addition to being the full-time librarian here at West Briar, he is also the sponsor of The Name That Book club, the school webmaster, and is taking on some technology duties.

Mr. Turner grew up in small town South Carolina and graduated from Ninety Six High School in Ninety Six, SC. Believe it or not, it's a real place! He received his Bachelor of Music Education from Lander College and his Master's in Library and Information Science from the University of South Carolina.

 In his free time, he enjoys spending time with friends and family, photography, being with his 2 dogs, Hazel & Johnny, the world’s cutest Chinese Cresteds, (ask him for pictures!) and traveling the world when we are not in a global pandemic.
