Our Gifted and Talented ProgramThe School at St. George Place's Vanguard (Gifted and Talented) Neighborhood program is designed to meet the needs of the Gifted and Talented students. Vanguard Neighborhood K-12 programs provide a learning continuum that is differentiated in depth, complexity, and pacing. The Vanguard Neighborhood program is designed for G/T students who excel in general intellectual ability in combination with creative/productive thinking and/or leadership ability. All of our teachers at the School at St. G-eorge have received 30 hours of training in meeting the needs of G/T students and receive a yearly 6 hour update in the delivery of instruction for gifted students. TEA requires that all kindergarten students have the opportunity to apply for Vanguard Neighborhood during the fall semester. All of our kindergarten students have the opportunity to apply for the Vanguard Neighborhood program. Students who do not qualify during their kindergarten year may re-apply once a calendar year.
