In 1999, she completed her undergraduate studies with a double major in Psychology and Sociology at the notable Texas A&M University-Kingsville. These disciplines laid the foundation for her educational philosophy and practice, subsequently leading her to the completion of a Master's in School Counseling in 2014 at Lamar University. As a lifelong learner, she is now enjoying the pursuit of a doctoral degree in educational psychology. This will be her second year in the Marlin Nation (Pride of the South!), and she is excited to welcome the class of 2028!

Evette Mason-Ferguson (A-Dan) EMASON@houstonisd.org
With a career spanning over two decades, Evette Mason Ferguson is a dedicated school counselor passionate about guiding students toward their fullest potential. A proud graduate of the University of Houston, Ms. Mason Ferguson earned a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts in Theatre before furthering her education at the University of St. Thomas, where she completed a Master’s in School Counseling in 2018.
Drawing on a rich background in the arts, Ms. Mason Feguson brings creativity and empathy to her role, inspiring students to embrace their dreams and persevere through challenges. She believes that every setback is a setup for a remarkable comeback and is committed to helping students navigate their journeys with resilience and confidence.
In her two decades as an educator, Ms. Mason Ferguson has been a source of support, encouragement, and wisdom, fostering a positive environment where students feel empowered to overcome obstacles and achieve greatness.

With a solid educational foundation and a passion for fostering student growth, Ashley Allen brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our school district. Holding a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Mississippi State University, a Master of Education in Counseling from Delta State University, and an Education Specialist degree in Educational Administration and Supervision, Ms. Allen is dedicated to enhancing both academic and personal development in educational settings. Originally from Mississippi, Ms. Allen has recently relocated to Houston, TX, and is excited to contribute to our community with a focus on leadership and student support.

She graduated with her Bachelors of Science in Psychology in 2012 at the University of Houston. From there, she pursued her Masters of Education in Counseling, and graduated again from the University of Houston in 2016; both she received Summa Cum Laude honors. She received her LPC-Associate, as well as her LCDC. However, she realized she wanted to work with children, and returned to school at Texas A&M San Antonio to receive her School Counseling certification. She was a teacher for 3 years at KIPP San Antonio. Afterwards she was an elementary counselor with SAISD for 3 years, and a program coordinator/testing coordinator with SAISD for 1 year.

She holds a B.A. in Mathematics with a minor in Spanish and an M.Ed. in School Counseling from the University of Houston-Clear Lake, specializing in bilingual counseling. With 13 years of experience as a dual language/bilingual teacher in Alvin and Pasadena ISD, she is passionate about both math and education. She is thrilled to join the Madison Marlin family!

She began her educational career in 2003 as a language arts teacher and transitioned into school counseling in 2013. Over the years, she has served as a middle school lead counselor, an Academy Coordinator/CTE counselor, and a high school counselor. She holds a B.S. degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, a Master of Arts in Education/Curriculum and Instruction, and two M.Ed. degrees in Educational Administration and School Counseling from Lamar University. She is a proud Madison Marlin!
