This course is an innovative and exciting program for Spanish-speaking students in middle or secondary school and it will be conducted only in Spanish.First, this program will help learners to continue to develop and maintain their native language skills. Since native speakers bring comprehension and speaking abilities to the classroom, they will develop literacy skills in Spanish for academic purposes. As soon as they refine their academic skills in their native language, those skills can be transferred to their new language (English) and facilitate the use of that language in other subject areas.
There are going to be activities that include speaking, writing, reading and listening skills using diverse topics like culture, health, science, technology, Latin America history and more. Even though, the learner is familiar with the Spanish language, as student, they will be required to work regularly and diligently. At the same time during the course, they will come to understand the diversity of cultures of the people who speak Spanish, remember that every Spanish country is unique and you will discover some of the folk tales and stories of these people along with their interest and concerns, and to compare them with yours.
