The school garden offers a place to enrich teaching efforts with powerful hands-on experiences that make learning come alive. Wilson’s school gardens provide an effective way to promote life-long healthy eating habits and connect students to the natural world. Gardening provides Montessori educators with opportunities to enhance student education through practical, reality-based learning.
At Wilson, classrooms adopt the gardens and do the work to maintain them. Parents and community volunteers also help during school wide “Garden Works” days scheduled throughout the year.
