To graduate with a Recommended High School Program Diploma, students must earn 26 credits and meet a minimum requirement on certain certain state mandated exams. Learn more about being a Texas ScholarTo meet the recommended plan, all students are required to earn
- 4 credits in English
- 4 credits in Math
- 4 credits in Social Studies
- 4 credits in Science
- 2 credits in Language Other Than English (LOTE)
- 1 credit in Fine Arts
- 1 credit in Technology
- 0.5 credit in Health
- 0.5 credit in Speech
- 1 or 1.5 credits in Physical Educatio
- 4 or 3.5 credits in Electives
Students are also required to pass certain state mandated exams. These also vary by grade level due to the phase out/in of TAKS and STAAR EOC. Click here to learn more about the role testing plays in meeting graduation requirements.
To be recognized as a Texas Scholar, two of the following courses are required.
