Welcome to another exciting year for Lovett Elementary Bands! The Lovett Elementary band program has a history of high achievement and acclaim, competing and performing locally and across the country. I am very excited to continue and build upon this tradition of excellent band music at Lovett Elementary.

I received my bachelors degrees in Music Education and Instrumental Performance from Illinois State University. I have formally taught music for 10 years, teaching everything from preschool students starting their musical training to seniors in high school preparing for college auditions and scholarship competitions. Through all these experiences, I have found the excitement, creativity, and hard work that younger students put into learning music is unmatched. The beginning of learning an instrument is always the most challenging, because everything is new. The phrase I love to use with my students is "is it hard, or is it new?" The learning process is taking these new things and gradually mastering them. I started my music journey on clarinet when I was just 5 years old and I know young musicians can achieve amazing things. I look forward to finding the best way to inspire all Lovett band students to continue and improve their greatness.
