I downloaded Imagine Learning, MyON, BrainPOP on my child's iPad but they can't sign in.

You have to go through the Hub even on a tablet or mobile device. Either open a browser on the device and go to www.clever.com/in/hisd or download the Clever app on the device and log in with the child's district credentials. You'll be able to use the apps within the Hub.

How can my child join his/her teacher's Team Meeting (morning meeting/read aloud)?

If the teacher provided a link, your child can join the meeting on a web browser without having to log into Teams. If the teacher provided a link through Seesaw or Microsoft Teams, you can join on the web browser on the device or on the Microsoft Teams app. If it prompts for login credentials, see https://www.houstonisd.org/Page/180483

My child joined the meeting but no one else is in the meeting?

Double-check the time of the meeting. If the meeting is supposed to occur and there is no activity in the meeting, contact the teacher to confirm the meeting link.

My child joined the meeting, but cannot turn on his/her camera or microphone.

If you're joining the meeting through a web browser, there will be a pop-up box that prompts you to allow or block camera and microphone access. Be sure to ALLOW so your child can participate in the meeting. If you're joining the meeting from the Microsoft Teams app, be sure to allow the app access to the camera and microphone on the device. If you've accidentally choose "don't allow", go into Settings on your device, select the app from the menu on the left, and change the settings for the app to allow.

Does my child need to sign in or log into Teams to participate in the live meeting?

If you are on a computer/laptop and using a browser, you do not need to sign in or log in and can "join on the web instead".

Can I view a recording of the meeting later?

If the teacher recorded the meeting, the teacher can provide a copy of the meeting in either link form or upload the video to Google Classroom or Microsoft Teams.

During a live meeting, my child only wants to see his/her teacher and not other students. Or during Read Alouds, I want the screen to stay on my child's teacher and not switch to another student's camera.

If you click on the 3 dots next to the teacher's name while on screen, there is an option to "pin" the teacher's screen. Click here for instructions.
