Ms. Rebecca De La Rosa

Ms. De La Rosa found her way to teaching via a circuitous bumpy road that consisted of few years wrapping presents at Macy's and a stint as an Entertainment Supervisor and costume character at AstroWorld  (where she met a teenage Beyonce), all-the-while working for her bachelor's degree. Upon graduating from UH, she found her way to Waltrip High School as permanent sub #8; there she knew she found her home in education. She spent the waning days of her twenties and all her thirties at Waltrip. Then, in 2014, she was fortunate enough to land at Energy Institute High School, where she has taught every grade level - and most of the students who have ever attended here.

Ms. De La Rosa is the sponsor of the Energy High School National Honor Society and is an Ambassador and Project Team Leader for the Travis Manion Foundation. She is the AP Language and Composition Lead Teacher for HISD.

Mr. Julian Platon

Hello there! I'm Julian Platón and I teach Government and Economics at Energy. This will be my eleventh year teaching and my seventh year at Energy. I am driven by a desire to help students think critically and become citizens. I like to engage students with simulations that replicate historical forces.  I look forward to helping you make sense of the world!

Mr. O'Shane Elliott

Hey ya'll. I'm Mr. Elliott and I'll be teaching Government and Economics. I started teaching about 4 years ago and arrive at Energy excited to face the challenges ahead. Students excel in my class when they open their mind to the world around them and begin to understand their place and others. I enjoy traveling, eating, and listening (to music, people, nature). I hope that I can help motivate students to find their passion, whatever it may be.
