Title I & Family and Community Engagement (FACE)

  • What is Title I?

    Title 1 is a federally funded program that provides extra academic support to students in the areas of reading and/or math. One of the goals of the program is to improve the academic achievement of the disadvantaged. The purpose of the title is to ensure that all children have an equal and significant opportunity to obtain a high-quality education.

    What is FACE?

    The Houston Independent School District values parents as partners in preparing our students to succeed in college, career, and beyond. The Family and Community Engagement (FACE) Department is dedicated to building intentional partnerships to advance student achievement by promoting a welcoming environment, honoring families, and linking activities to learning.
