Children between the ages of 6 to 17 are required to attend school by the state compulsory attendance law. Pre-Kindergarten students who do not come to school regularly will be dropped from the program.
The official time of the day for taking attendance is 9:30 a.m. Parents are encouraged to make dental/doctor appointments after 9:30 a.m. so that students will not be counted absent. Children between the ages of 6 to 17 are required to attend school by the compulsory attendance law.
The following are the only acceptable excuses for absences:
- Personal Illness Sickness or Death in the Family
- Quarantine Weather or Road Conditions Making Travel Dangerous
- Participation in School Activities with the Permission of the Principal Emergencies or Unusual Circumstances Recognized by the Principal or Person Designated
The reason for an excused absence must be stated in writing and signed by the parent or legal guardian. The written excuse must be received by the school within two days after the absence.
