.Mr. Parkess received his Bachelor of Music Degree from The
University of Texas at Arlington, and his Master of Music degree from the
University of Oregon, where he served as a Graduate Teaching Fellow teaching
undergraduate music classes, and directing student ensembles. After graduating
from the Performing Arts High in Dallas, TX, he moved to New York City with a
full scholarship to attend the New School for Social Research where he studied
Jazz and Contemporary music with some of the worlds greatest improvising
musicians. After two years of study at the New School, Mr. Parkess began
performing professionally in the New York City area five to seven nights per
week, and teaching private lessons to a number of weekly music
students. He maintained this rigorous performing and teaching
schedule for over ten years before he decided to complete his education in
order to become a full-time music educator. Mr. Parkess moved to Houston with
his wife Holly, and their two feline fur babies Loretta and Theo, in order for
him to share his love of music with our students here at Parker! |
