Spanish Magnet Program ¡Bienvenidos!
Spanish Program Overview
Learning Spanish is a tremendous tool in our world! Spanish is the official language for 21 countries. There are an estimated 417 million Spanish speakers globally, making Spanish one of the most widely spoken languages in the world today. There are also smaller Spanish speaking groups in Canada, northern Morocco, Equatorial Guinea, the Philippines (the latter three being former colonies of Spain) and in many other places, particularly large cities.
Spanish is the second most common language in our nation. Representing about 16 percent of the total population of the United States, Spanish speakers live in many states, including Texas, California, Florida, New Jersey, New York, Arizona, and Illinois.
Learning Spanish at Kolter through songs, games, and simple conversations enriches students' awareness and understanding of this important cultural group, as well as extends children's capability to enjoy more friendships.
