The goal of the class is to motivate students to express themselves visually and creatively. It will build a foundation of art knowledge and skills through the “Elements of Art” and “Principles of Design”. Famous artists will be highlighted in each lesson.

Each month there will be a different focus. Grade levels will do different lessons while using the same materials.

• October - Painting
• November - Printing
• December - Collage
• January - 3 Dimensional Art
• February - Bookmaking
• March - Textile
• April - Paper
• May - Mixed Media 

Throughout the year students work in a variety of materials including: pencil, pen, crayon, marker, watercolor, tempera paint, acrylic paint, oil pastels, chalk pastels and charcoal. Students will also be using recycled materials such as cardboard, wood scraps and magazines.
