Descriptions of Academic Curriculum Levels
On-Level (Grade Level)
Students in on-level (grade level) classes receive instruction that addresses the grade-level learning objectives as outlined by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) through the state curriculum standards known as Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS).
Pre-Advanced Placement (PAP)
Students in Pre-AP classes receive instruction that addresses the grade-level learning objectives along with additional skillsets and strategies designed to help students acquire analytical thinking and communication skills necessary for success in Advanced Placement (AP) courses in high school.
Gifted and Talented (GT)
Students in gifted and talented (GT) classes receive instruction that modifies the depth, complexity and pacing of the curriculum. All GT students are GT tested and identified through the district.
