Everett Hare Sr. has been selected as the new principal of Evan G. Worthing High School. Mr. Hare has 15 years of experience in the field of education. He started his career as a third-grade teacher at Dodson Elementary School in Houston ISD. After success in the classroom for multiple years, he served as an Instructional Specialist at Pleasantville Elementary. For the past four and a half years, he has served as Principal at Mamie Sue Bastian Elementary School, transforming the school from a multi-year IR campus to five consecutive years of meeting state standard and achievement with designation distinctions.
Mr. Hare earned his bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Dillard University and a master’s degree in Educational Administration from Texas Southern University. He is currently working to complete his Doctoral Degree as well. Mr. Hare currently serves as the Vice-President for HASA and Liaison Leader for HAABSE with HISD. He has received several awards including the Emily Evans Scott Award for Outstanding Third Grade Teacher, HAABSE Teacher of the Year, Campus Teacher of the Year, and the Principals’ Excellence in Leadership Award. He has two amazing children that attend schools in the district.
