The H.W. Longfellow Creative & Performing Arts Program develops fine art appreciation, skills and leadership through meaningful learning experiences. Longfellow is a school-wide magnet for the Creative & Performing Arts in which all students participate in the magnet program. The Longfellow Magnet Program began in 1976, and currently provides daily 50 minute classes in art, general music, choir, band, orchestra and dance. We also offer after school theater and keyboard classes.
There is free bus transportation
for the magnet transfer students that qualify.
Students are expected to advance in skill development so they can join a fine art performing group. Students perform and display their work in school-wide events throughout the year. The performers participate in local area competitions, win awards and recognitions, and gain exposure and experience at a multitude of events.
