Ortiz Middle School has an array of clubs where students have the opportunity to explore their interests, as well as develop skills and leadership while forming new friendships and alliances. The following is a list of clubs and organizations at Ortiz Middle School:
We create and/or partake in different forms of visual arts and compete in a variety of district, local, and state competitions!
Our cheer squad represents Ortiz MS at athletic events, community engagements, and more! Students learn the importance of teamwork, patience, and leadership as role models of their community.
Ms. Breed & Ms. Smith
A place for students to learn to play chess and hone their skills by playing other players in person or online.
Exploration of culinary and baking arts; we meet and eat!
We work on the various styles of mariachi while working and improving individual instrumental and vocal techniques through group ensemble rehearsals. This group mostly performs at concerts and events at school, as well as community outreach events throughout the Houston area

We support & cheer on those members of the student body who represent the school in varsity athletics, plays, band, and other club performances or competitions!
We aim to provide service to Ortiz Middle School through volunteering and outreach, and promoting connectivity across the student body through cross-curricular, extracurricular, and school-wide events and opportunities.
