2022-2023 NEW STUDENT REGISTRATION:

Returning HISD students that are Ortiz Magnet or currently zoned to Ortiz do not have to register. We will check for proof of residency in August and all other paperwork will be requested through the first-day packets.

Only those students NEW to Ortiz or zoned students NEW to HISD need to register. See notice below for required information.

REQUIRED COURSES FOR SIXTH GRADERS:

As an IB World School and a Magnet for the Performing and Visual Arts, Ortiz offers a variety of courses for our students. The International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme requires students to take eight courses each year of the program. Our Magnet program provides the opportunity for students to learn music, dance, theatre arts, how to play an instrument, and various forms of visual arts. DRESS CODE 2022-23

The culture of Ortiz Middle School is focused on positive relationships and academic excellence. Student dress code will be strictly enforced. Students and parents are expected to review the following pages and adhere to our dress code. Students are expected to be in compliance of our dress code while on campus and on field trips or any other school event.
