I began at Harvard Elementary School as the School Social Worker in the fall of 2019. I am a Licensed Master Social Worker by the Texas State Board of Social Work Examiners. I attended Baylor University in Waco, Texas where I graduated with both my Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees of Social Work with a Clinical Concentration in Children and Families. I’ve served in public schools for about 7 years. Before moving to Houston, I was the Volunteer Director at a national nonprofit organization in Waco that served students at-risk of dropping out of school. I was excited to return to direct practice with children.
I am excited and honored to supervise Jaileen Sanchez, MSW Candidate with a Clinical Concentration, expected to graduate May of 2021, as our very own part-time Social Work Intern for the 2020-2021 school year. Before Harvard, she interned with the Urban Experience Program at the University of Houston and the Children’s Assessment Center in Harris County. She has her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a minor in Latin American studies. She has served the Houston area in various capacities since 2015. In her free time, she loves to bake, enjoy a yummy dessert, or go for a walk in the park. Welcome to the Harvard family, Ms. Sanchez!
In my spare time, I enjoy water skiing, being outside, reading, and playing with my dog, Kelly. Please reach out to me with any questions or just to say “hi!”. My office is located in room 218, upstairs near the 4th and 3rd grade hallways.
Please visit my website for community resources, regulation tools, social-emotional activities, and other parent resources.
