Dr. Federico Hernandez has been selected as the new principal for Middle College High School at HCC Felix Fraga.  Dr. Hernandez is a proud product of Houston ISD schools and has served as a mathematics teacher at Thomas Edison Middle School, MacArthur Ninth Grade School, and Sam Houston MSTC.  He has served as an assistant principal and was the Associate Principal at Sam Houston MSTC for the 2021- 2022 school year. 

As a teacher, Dr. Hernandez was a Rice University National Science Foundation Master Teacher Fellow and, as an administrator, he was part of the leadership team that helped Sam Houston MSTC fully implement the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (MYP).  Most recently, Dr. Hernandez completed the Rice University Executive Leadership Academy.  Dr. Hernandez holds a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, a master’s and a doctorate, both in Curriculum and Instruction with emphasis in Mathematics Education, from the University of Houston.
