    Hello, my name is Aleida Eubanks, and I am proud to call HCC Felix Fraga Middle College HS my new home. This is my 6th year teaching High School Science and my first year working with HISD.  This year I am teaching Biology and Environmental Systems.

    Teaching is my second career.  Prior to teaching, I spent many years working in the areas of In Vitro Diagnostic and Biomedical research and marketing.  During my years in the research and Biomedical field I was involved in the development of diagnostic tests for the detection of enteric pathogens and in the area of vaccine development.

    I graduated from the University of North Texas with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and a Master’s degree in Molecular Biology.  Working in the area of science, whether being involved in research or teaching, has always been a part of who I am.  This year, I am excited to help my students learn all about the science of the Environment and about Biology.  Hopefully we can find the path your students are looking for to lead them to success!



    In Biology, students will conduct laboratory and field investigations, use scientific methods during investigations, and make informed decisions using critical thinking and scientific problem-solving. Students in Biology study a variety of topics that include: structures and functions of cells and viruses; growth and development of organisms; cells, tissues, and organs; nucleic acids and genetics; biological evolution; taxonomy; metabolism and energy transfers in living organisms; living systems; homeostasis; and ecosystems and the environment.

    Environmental Systems

    This course is designed to enable a better understanding of human impact on our surroundings and the environmental needs of the future.  Students will study a variety of topics that include; biotic and abiotic factors in habitats; ecosystems and biomes; interrelationships among resources and an environmental system; sources and flow of energy through an environmental system; and changes in populations and ecosystems.
