About the Program
The Pin Oak Girls’ Lacrosse Club is open to girls in 6th through 8th grades.
Lacrosse is a fast, fun, and exciting sport that is quickly gaining popularity in Texas. Our girls have enjoyed learning the basics of the sport and have experienced many successes on the field. Women’s Lacrosse, or LAX, is a non-contact sport played with twelve players on each team. The objective of the game is to use a long-handled racket, known as a lacrosse stick, to catch, carry, and pass a solid rubber ball with the goal of scoring by hurling the ball into the opponent’s goal. Defensively, the objective is to prevent the opposing team from scoring and to dispossess them of the ball through stick checking and body positioning.
Girls’ Lacrosse at Pin Oak is a club sport comprised of 6th, 7th, and 8th-grade girls. HISD does not provide coaching, financial support, or transportation. We are non-UIL. Pin Oak Middle School generously allows and supports us in representing the school. The Club is managed and operated by the parents of the players. Without parent volunteers and participation, there is no team. The Club is successful due to the volunteer efforts of the parents. It is our hope that you will embrace the value of this Pin Oak tradition.
We are members of US Lacrosse through the Houston Chapter, known as Greater Houston Lacrosse.
Fall is a great time to decide if this is a sport your child wants to pursue. Registration and commitment for the spring season will take place in December.
