Principal Santos, a seasoned educator and visionary leader, is embarking on his second year as the principal of Challenge Early College High School. Mr. Santos brings with him an impressive 23-year tenure within the Houston Independent School District (HISD), where he has served in various capacities, consistently making a positive impact on the lives of students. His leadership has been instrumental in transforming schools and fostering a culture of success that elevates academic achievement, college and career readiness, and graduation rates.

During his previous three-year tenure as principal at Middle College High School at Fraga, Mr. Santos demonstrated his ability to create a thriving educational environment. By implementing innovative strategies, such as redesigning and implementing new professional learning communities, he fostered an atmosphere where both students and teachers could thrive. Additionally, he worked diligently to develop opportunities for students to excel academically and prepared them for future college and career pursuits.

Mr. Santos has a proven track record of excellence in administrative roles, having served as an assistant principal at Sterling Aviation, Early College High School, and as the dean of students at the Advanced Virtual Academy. In each of these positions, he exhibited exceptional leadership, ensuring a nurturing and inclusive school environment that supports the unique needs of students.

Furthermore, Mr. Santos has excelled as a teacher at East Early College High School, allowing him to gain firsthand experience in the classroom and further understand the challenges and triumphs that students and teachers face. This invaluable perspective has shaped his approach to education and fortified his commitment to student-centered learning.

Academically, Mr. Santos holds a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Houston-Downtown and a Master's in Educational Administration from Prairie View A&M University. These qualifications, coupled with his extensive experience in education, equip him with the knowledge and skills needed to lead Challenge Early College High School with excellence.
