I am so excited to be a part of Roberts Elementary as a second grade teacher! I was born in New York, raised in Connecticut and then moved to Texas where I attended college. I am a graduate of Texas A&M Corpus Christi with a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies (Elementary Education) and a Master's Degree in Educational Administration from Sam Houston University. I began my teaching career in Conroe ISD as a 1st grade teacher for five years and taught at Harvard Elementary in HISD for three years. My passion is inspiring young minds and being able to instill a love of learning in each of my students. In my spare time, I enjoy running, cooking and traveling to new places.

Hello! My name is Ms. Miller and I am beyond excited for my first year at Roberts teaching 2nd grade! I was born and raised in New Orleans and I graduated from LSU (GEAUX TIGERS!) with my degree in Communication Studies. I am fairly new to Houston, so on the weekends, I enjoy exploring new areas of town and trying new restaurants. Some of my favorite things to do include painting, practicing yoga, cooking new recipes and curling up with a good book!

After graduating with my B.S. in Psychology from the University of Houston, I began my career as an educator working with the Infant Programs at MHMRA (Mental Health Mental Retardation Authority of Harris County). Then I went back to school to earn my M.Ed. and started teaching in public schools. Due to my passion to instill a love of reading in children, I went back to school once again - this time to obtain an MLIS to become a school librarian. I have always enjoyed every aspect of teaching, and have considered myself extremely blessed. That being said, I am so excited to be returning to Roberts... the best school in Houston with the cutest class ever! ❤️

I love teaching at Roberts because it is an IBPYP school. I believe that if we, as parents and teachers, encourage children to develop the characteristics of the Learner Profile and IB Attitudes, they will become happy, successful global citizens and life long learners. I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, cooking, exercising and eating!

Hello! My name is Cathy Reyes and I am so excited to be teaching second grade here at Roberts. I grew up in Waco, Texas and moved to Houston for college. I graduated from the University of Houston with a degree in Elementary Education (early childhood – 6th grade). I first came to Roberts as a student teacher in 4th grade, and absolutely loved how diverse and welcoming the community here at Roberts was. In my free time, I enjoy practicing yoga, watching a Texans game, or cooking! My favorite children’s book is “An A from Miss Keller” by Patricia Polacco.

Hello! My name is Ms. Villasenor. I am so excited to begin teaching at Roberts this year. I am a native Houstonian and I studied Elementary Education at Stephen F. Austin State University (Axe 'Em). When I am not at school I am painting, cheering for the Astros, and going out to restaurants all over Houston! I already feel so welcomed here at Roberts and look forward to the year ahead of us!
