Arrival
The school building opens at 7:00 AM. For the safety of all students, please adhere to this policy. Students are not allowed in the building, nor will staff be on hand to supervise prior to 7:00 AM. We encourage students to arrive at school between 7:00-7:25 AM.
1st – 5th grade students: From 7:00-7:20 AM, 1st – 5th grade students report to and remain in the cafeteria. At 7:20 AM, a bell will ring dismissing these students to their classrooms. School breakfasts will be consumed in the classroom; outside food should not be brought to school for breakfast.
1st – 5th grade students: All 1st – 5th grade students will enter through the Manville Blue Doors. Students may be dropped off in the car line, walk up, ride their bikes or parents may park and walk with their child to the Blue Door.
Car rider drop off – Manville entrance: Please enter through the north gate and exit through the south gate. Please note that only a right turn out of the lot will be allowed. Gates are marked with entrance and exit signs. Pull forward as close as possible to the south exit; cars should utilize the entire sidewalk for drop off.
Note – This is a drop off lane. Should you need to help your child out of the car, assist your child with a project, etc., please park your car in the neighborhood. There is no visitor parking available on campus.
Pre-K and Kinder students: From 7:00 – 7:20 AM, Pre-kindergarten and kindergarten students all gather in the kinder hallway. At 7:20 AM, a bell will ring dismissing these students to their classrooms. School breakfasts will be consumed in the classroom; outside food should not be brought to school for breakfast.
Pre-K and Kinder students: Pre-K and Kinder students will enter through the Grovewood White Doors. Parents must park and walk with their child to the White Doors. Please park safely in the neighborhood. Parking for student drop off is not allowed in the school parking lot or in the circle drive.
Siblings: All siblings will enter through the Manville Blue Doors. Students may be dropped off in the car line, walk up, ride their bikes or parents may park in the neighborhood and walk with their children to the Blue Door.
Bus/special needs students drop off – Grovewood entrance: The Circle Drive Green Doors are reserved for buses and students with special needs being dropped off by car. Parents of these students will receive a Green Door car tag to display in their vehicle. All vehicles will enter through the east gate and exit through the west gate, making a right turn upon exit. Gates are marked with entrance and exit signs.
We welcome parents to walk their children to class during the first two days of school. Parents, please be prepared to say goodbye to your child at the doorway. Parents will not be allowed to enter the classrooms. After the first two days, please allow your child to enter the building and walk to class on his/her own. Members of the school staff are on duty to ensure the safety and well being of all students.
Late Arrival: Students arriving after 7:30 are considered tardy. The Manville Blue Door entrance is locked at 7:30 AM. All students arriving late (after 7:30 AM) and all visitors should use the Grovewood Green Door entrance. After 7:45 parents must safely park their car in the neighborhood, walk with their child into the building using the Grovewood Green Door and sign them in.
Dismissal
The school day ends at 3:00 PM. Please arrange for prompt pick up of your child daily.
Car rider pick up – Manville Street:
ALL 1st – 5th grade students for CAR RIDER pick up will be released through the White STAR cafeteria doors.
Please enter through the north gate and exit through the south gate, making a right turn only to exit the gate. Gates are marked entrance and exit. Pull forward as close as possible to the south exit; cars should utilize the entire sidewalk for pickup. Teachers will be on hand to help with safety and traffic. Please follow their instructions. Parents need to display your child’s/children’s name(s) on the provided hanging visor tags. Lost visor tags can be replaced for $5. Students will be held in the cafeteria and called to meet their cars outside.
Bus/special needs student pick up – Grovewood entrance: All school transportation, and daycare buses will pick up in the Green Door circle drive. Students with Special Needs will also be dismissed from this area. All vehicles will enter through the east gate and exit through the west gate, making a right turn only as you exit the gate.
Walk-Up-Pick-Up: This is for all parents who choose to park their car and walk up to pick up their child.
1st – 2nd grade walk-up-pick-up students: These students will remain in the interior hallway at the Manville Blue Door entrance. These parents will park their car safely in the neighborhood and walk up to the entrance. Parents/guardians will line up in front of the appropriate sign by grade level under the breezeway (See map). As you approach the door, your child will be called. Parents will be provided a walk-up-pick-up card with your child’s name on it. Please be prepared to present your walk-up-pick-up card every day. All students walking or riding bikes independently will be dismissed from the Blue Doors. Written permission for your child to walk or ride the bike on his/her own must be provided to the front office prior. Please email Ms. Amy at Amy.RoeSoliz@houstonisd.org.
3rd – 5th grade walk-up-pick-up students: These students are dismissed by their supervising teachers from the shaded area just off the breezeway (see map). These parents will park their car safely in the neighborhood and walk up to the entrance. Parents will be provided a walk-up-pick-up card with your child’s name on it. Please be prepared to present your walk-up-pick-up card every day. All students walking or riding bikes independently will be dismissed from the Blue Doors. Written permission for your child to walk or ride the bike on his/her own must be provided to the front office prior. Please email Ms. Amy at Amy.RoeSoliz@houstonisd.org.

Siblings will be released together following the oldest sibling release point.
Afterschool Care Onsite: Sinclair is proud to offer site-based afterschool care through After3. These students will report to designated locations at the end of the school day. Dismissal from the After3 afterschool program will be according to their policy. Sinclair’s school day ends at 3:00 PM. Children must be picked up immediately following dismissal. The teachers and administration are not responsible for the supervision of students after 3:20 PM unless they are enrolled in tutorial or enrichment programs. Tutoring and enrichment programs end by 4:15 PM. Our school’s office closes at 4:00 PM. Please be considerate of our staff by picking up your child on time. Three late pick-ups will result in removal from afterschool programs.
We reserve the right to contact CPS and/or HISD Police Department if you are excessively late in picking up your child.
