Greyhound Gamers

  • Sponsor: Mr. Mathis

    Time: Fridays 3:50 - 5:00

    Location: 230

    Participants:  6th, 7th, 8th

The Greyhound Gamers Club is open to all grade levels. Students will explore video game consoles, playing classic video games from 1972 (Magnavox Odyssey) to the present – students will have the opportunity to live like the kids of the ’70s, ’80s, and ’90s playing Nintendo, Sega Genesis, Atari 2600, and many more.  We will also learn how to take things apart, clean and maintain systems.

Students are escorted down at 5:00 and should be picked by 5:15. Please be prompt.

All students are required to fill out an APPLICATION which can be picked up from Mr. Mathis in room 230. Students will also need to provide a copy of their current report card.

Space is limited to 30 students. Grades must be kept at 80 or above in order to remain in the club.

There is a membership fee of $20.00 for the year.  This is used for equipment upkeep and replacement.   Some of the money will also be used for special events or field trip(s). Donations of unwanted video games or video consoles are always appreciated.

A club shirt will be available but must be purchased separately from the dues.

(Please note: students come to play video games but must abide by the rules; this is not a venue for students to sit and just wait to be picked up or a daycare facility.  Students are expected to be picked up on time or they will be unable to attend further meetings.)
