Testing dates will be communicated to parents once the district releases the information to the campuses.

    F.A.Q.

Where can I request G/T testing for my child in grades KG-1st or 3rd-5th grade? The district will provide a link to request G/T testing.

Do I need to submit a request for my 2nd-grade child? No, all 2nd-grade students who have NOT been identified as G/T are universally tested. You do not need to submit a request for testing.

Do you offer testing for Pre-K students?  If you have a child entering Kindergarten for the upcoming school year, please submit your interest through the district's G/T link. Once we receive the information from the campus, we will schedule testing for your child.

When does testing take place? Communication will be provided by Ms. Tran once the testing dates are finalized at the campus.

When will I receive the results? The district will provide the date on when to expect testing results.

What happens if my child does not qualify for G/T this year? If your child tests and does not qualify this year, you can request testing again next year. G/T testing is also offered in middle school.

What happens if my child qualifies for G/T, then we have to withdraw from HISD? Keep your documentation so if you do return to the district, you can submit that to the G/T coordinator at the enrolling campus to get your child's G/T status reinstated.

What's the name of the test? How can I prepare my child for the G/T test? The test is a secured test so we cannot disclose the name of the test nor provide test prep recommendations.
