Wraparound Services is an initiative created by the HISD aimed to address the critical needs of students and the community in which they reside. Our goal is to assess and resolve issues that could hinder academic success/social growth, in a timely and culturally sensitive manner.
The Wraparound Department provides students with the non-academic supports necessary to be successful in school; including access to mental and physical health professionals, food, housing, and more. I think it is critical to coordinate efforts to provide for clothing, shelter, reduce hunger, address mental health issues, and/ or crisis intervention on an ongoing basis.
