How soon may I file an SSLB claim?

Active members may submit a claim once all of their leave time has been exhausted. An employee's leave time consists of all available leave hours the employee has accrued/been advanced; this includes Local Personal Leave (LPL), State Personal Leave (SPL), State Sick Leave (SSL) and Vacation.

Depending on when they enroll, newly enrolled members may file a claim following the start of the program plan year or their effective enrollment date. Newly enrolled members must still wait until after they have exhausted all available leave time to file a claim.
