THANK YOU FOR HELPING US SAY GOODBYE TO OUR 8TH GRADE CLASS OF 2020 WITH A PARADE!
Teachers and staff lined up to wave goodbye to our 8th graders and help them transition to high school with a "reverse" parade on Friday, May 22nd from 12:30 - 1:30. Banners and balloons greeted students, parents and family members as they drove through the parking lot in parade formation to say goodbye to middle school. Enjoy the video!
WE'RE TRYING TO REACH YOU!
Teachers and staff have attempted to reach all Ortiz students to ensure our families are safe and that students have the technology needed to access our distant learning classes. If you have not yet been contacted, please update your contact information HERE so that we can correct any misinformation we may have in our records. You can also call the Ortiz main phone number at 713-845-5650 and leave us a voice message.
REMOTE LEARNING SYSTEMS FOR STUDENTS
We are using MS Teams to connect with our students and hold daily online meetings. The primary purpose of these meetings is to communicate with students, such as:
Click HERE for directions on accessing MS Teams on your phone or computer.
Click HERE for information about obtaining internet for low or no cost.
During the Teams meetings, teachers will specify with students how they will access lesson assignments and turn in their work. Teachers are using a variety of platforms. Some of the platforms include MS Teams, Google Classroom, Remind, padlet, and nearpod. Teachers will guide students in using these platforms during their daily meetings on MS Teams and will ensure students are able to turn in their assignments.
