Science is a way of knowing and experiencing the natural world. It is both a social and intellectual endeavor that provides the foundation for life-long informed decision-making, problem-solving, improved, quality of life and technological advances. Learning science is an active process, and all students should have access to challenging, relevant, exciting, "hands-on," content-rich science experiences.

I have been a science teacher at Pershing Middle School since August 1999. Before beginning my teaching career I worked as a Medical Technologist for The Methodist Hospital for 15 years. I am a graduate of Stephen F. Austin University and The Methodist Hospital School of Medical Technology. I have two sons, one is a software engineer and the other a teacher, and both are products of HISD. I enjoy photography, traveling, the great outdoors, and teaching science (of course).

Hello, Pandas It is my pleasure to be part of the Pershing family. I was born in Honduras grew up in the Bronx New York moved out to Houston around 15 years ago I can say I feel more like a Houstonian now, Go TEXANS! I Graduated From The University of Houston, Go coogs! I’ve been teaching Science for over 4 years. Teaching is my passion and I believe that every student deserves a high quality of education where both the teacher and the student bring in and share knowledge in to the classroom.
