Computer Technology
Horn’s computer literacy program is designed to familiarize students with the capabilities of the computer and communications through technology. Students learn computer terminology, word processing, spreadsheets, and keyboarding skills. The computer lab teacher works with the students and teachers to provide skill lessons in the computer lab and to provide assistance in the classroom for the integration of curriculum and technology.Students will be using Code.org to learn computer programming. Internet safety, social networking, and cyberbullying are some of the topics that students will covering in class.The Bebras Challenge will be done in early November. This challenge is based on problems that require computational thinking to solve them.The Hour of Code will be done in early December. Using Code.org, students will work on courses to learn how to code.
